Gathering of Men will meet every Monday except holidays at Grace Lutheran from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
Volunteers needed. Synod Assembly is coming soon and we do not have any delegates from our church as of yet. Synod Assembly will be at Wartburg College from June 14 to June 16. Council would like to have representatives from Grace Church attend. Please let a council member or the church office know if you would be interested in going. We usually send 2 adults and one youth to the conference. Thank you.
Day Camp Set for June 10-13
Grace will be offering day camp again this summer (Monday, June 10 – Thursday, June 13) for kids in grades K-5. We will be expanding our outreach to include more children this year, and there will be some different activities, skits, and music than what has been done in the past, including a day trip to Ewalu Bible Camp in Strawberry Point.
Campers will meet for a free breakfast at the school at 8:15 am each morning, and will walk together in a supervised group to Grace church with day camp starting at 8:45. Campers will also be eating free school lunch daily, also with supervised walking to and from the school (in case of rain, volunteers will shuttle campers). Day camp will end at 4:30 pm each day. If there is enough interest and volunteers to assist, there may be a “day camp-lite” version, which would consist of a morning or two when preschoolers or children with special needs may attend. If rides are needed for campers to attend (when parents/grandparents, etc. are at work and it is too far to walk), please contact Rachel Page, day camp coordinator, for assistance.
Cost for day camp will be the same as in previous years ($35 for members or $60 for member families; $45 for non-members or $80 for non-member families). Registrations are being taken now already in order to make sure enough staff and volunteers are available. Please contact Rachel via phone, text, or email at 319-464-2862 or rpageheating@gmail.com to request a registration form to enroll your child, or with questions about day camp.
Support Day Camp through Giving Tree
We are happy to be expanding our day camp outreach to include more children and more activities this year. To do this, we are asking you to support our children by considering a donation to the Day Camp Giving Tree in the narthex.
The Giving Tree has different ornaments hanging on it representing the expected costs of various day camp-related expenses. If you would like to contribute to this experience for Tripoli’s children, please take an ornament for the activity that you would like to sponsor, and either clip your donation to the ornament and put it in the offering plate, or send your donation to Rachel Page (mailing info is on the back of the ornaments).
Thank you for supporting our children, and please watch for more opportunities to volunteer your help with day camp!
