Volunteers needed to help rebuild homes in US Virgin Islands-St. Croix & St. Thomas. Lutheran Men in Mission is partnering with Lutheran Disaster Response to help 2017 hurricane victims recover. Several men from Grace will be attending the Lutheran Men in Mission’s One Year to Live retreat on Nov. 8, 9, and 10 at Camp Ewalu near Strawberry Point. This retreat provides men with an opportunity to spend time away together and to come closer in their walk with Christ. Congregational Meeting Notice is being made of a congregational meeting for November 17. This meeting will be for call committee to present a summary of the Ministry Site Profile. Call committee has been working diligently to complete our profile and would like the congregations endorsement before sending to the Synod Office. The movie “Martin Luther, The Idea That Changed the World,” will be shown in the Grace fellowship hall this morning.. This full-length movie was originally shown on PBS in recognition of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The fellowship and education committees are presenting this movie after worship. Brunch will be served to those who plan to stay after church/Sunday School to watch the movie. A free-will offering will go to support the youth.
Thanksgiving Food Donations You may bring your Thanksgiving food items any time during the month of November through Thanksgiving for our Thanksgiving altar. If you are looking for ideas, here are a few suggestions: Stuffing mixes, potatoes (any kind), cranberry sauce, gravy mixes, Jello, canned fruit, macaroni and cheese, or toilet tissue is always needed. Any other kind of food items will then be taken to the Mobile Food pantry. Thank you for your participation in this project.
Church Responsibilities to be offered for bids for 2020. Job descriptions have been prepared for the following responsibilities: Parking lot snow removal, Lawn mowing-parsonage and church, Sidewalk snow removal, Cemetery lawn mowing.All bids need to be submitted by November 10th to any of the trustees: Shane Miller, Andrew Boldt, and David Shinstine.
Today, November 3rd (All Saint’s Sunday) at the 9:00 a.m. service we will be remembering all the saints that have gone to their heavenly home and will be honoring all the new Saints who have come to the Lord this past year and were baptized. We will light a candle in honor of all the Saints and include your family in our prayers at worship. All Saint’s Sunday is a special day in the Church year when we give thanks for the Christian saints we have known and all the new saints sharing with our Lord and Savior. After the worship service we would like to give you the candle we have lit during the service for the new Saints.
